I grew up in Brevard, NC for the first 9 years of my life. Moved to Columbus, NC until I was 19. Spent about a year in Charleston, SC as well as Bremerton, WA then in 1990 returned to Columbus, NC and in 1992 moved to Hendersonville, NC. And in February of 2018, moved to Landrum, SC. The girl may have moved slightly out of the mountains but you cannot take the mountains out of the girl.
I am married and have 4 children. Two sons serving our country in the US Navy. One living and working in Charleston, SC and our only daughter currently in Grad School at Charleston Southern, where she is also on the track and field team. I love my family. They are my joy and delight.
I have very deep Southern Baptist roots. My grandfather Reese was a preacher. I grew up in church. I was there every time the door creaked opened. While these are my roots, I prefer to say that I follow Jesus, rather than be tied to a specific denomination. I learned years ago, that Christianity is a way of life. It is not based on what religion you claim but based on the One you follow and the relationship you have with Him. I choose to follow Jesus because He is the only way. John 14:6
I am about as far from perfect as any human being can be. I have my issues and my quirks. I am just trying to live for Jesus the best I can and sometimes that’s moment by moment.
